How to Remove Your Toyota from the MyToyota App Before You Sell or Trade It In

When you sell or trade in your Toyota, it is important to remove the vehicle from your MyToyota App.

This ensures your Connected Services account is disconnected from the vehicle and helps protect your personal data.

If this step is missed:

  • Your personal data may remain linked to the vehicle

  • The new owner may not be able to activate Connected Services

  • Features such as Find My Car, remote functions and driving analytics may still be connected to your account

Removing the vehicle from the MyToyota App only takes about 30 seconds and ensures the next owner can activate their own services without any issues.

Step 1 – Open the MyToyota App

Open the MyToyota App on your phone.

You should see your vehicle listed in My Garage.


Step 2 – Select Your Vehicle

Tap on the vehicle listed in My Garage.

This will open the vehicle overview page where you can access the settings connected to your account.


Step 3 – Scroll Down to “Remove Vehicle”

Scroll down the page until you see Remove Vehicle.

Selecting this option disconnects the vehicle from your Toyota account.


Step 4 – Confirm Vehicle Removal

When you press Remove Vehicle, the app will display a warning explaining that the following will be removed:

  • Any active subscriptions

  • Your personal multimedia data stored in the vehicle

  • Access to Connected Services and Drive Recorder data

Once confirmed, the vehicle will be permanently removed from your account.


Step 5 – Vehicle Removed Confirmation

You will then see a Vehicle Removed confirmation message.

This means the car has now been fully disconnected from your account and is ready for the next owner.
